Quality Engineer
West Sussex / Plymouth (with travel between sites)
Full-time | 37.5 hours per week | Early finish Fridays
We’re looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team, reporting to the Quality Manager. This is a hands-on role supporting quality assurance activities across our West Sussex and Plymouth sites, ensuring compliance, driving continuous improvement, and meeting customer and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the QA representative in project and design reviews
- Liaise with customers on quality requirements and support audits/testing
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (ISO 9001)
- Conduct internal audits and support corrective actions (NCRs, CAPAs)
- Perform root cause analysis and lead structured problem solving (e.g. 5 Whys, DMAIC)
- Analyse quality and production data to identify trends and improvements
- Drive continuous improvement, Lean, and Six Sigma initiatives
- Support supplier quality activities, including assessments and issue resolution
- Prepare quality plans and support contract reviews
- Manage customer returns, fault analysis, and reporting

Skills & Experience
Essential:
- 3+ years’ experience in engineering/manufacturing
- or HND (or higher) in a relevant discipline

- Experience in a Quality Engineer role
- Background in regulated industries such as defence or aerospace
