Quality Environment Health Safety Manager
Part-time Quality, Health, Safety & Environment Lead (QHSE Lead)
Location: Swindon Salary: £36,000pa - £40,000pa (pro rata) Hours: Up to 30 hours per week, 3 or 4 days (mostly on-site with hybrid flexibility)
We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business in Swindon for an experienced QHSE Lead. This role requires taking ownership of Quality, Health, Safety & Environment activities, ensuring compliance, maintaining ISO standards, and driving continuous improvement across the site.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive QHSE professional who thrives in independent environments while making a meaningful impact on organisational change.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain ISO management systems, including:
- ISO 9001 (Quality)
- ISO 14001 (Environmental)
- ISO 45001 (Health & Safety)
- Lead internal audit programmes and coordinate external audits.
- Ensure adherence to UK health and safety legislation.
- Oversee and update risk assessments, incident investigations, and safe working procedures.
- Manage contractor compliance, inductions, and related documentation.
- Support environmental compliance, waste management, and regulatory reporting.
- Develop and deliver QHSE training, fostering a proactive safety culture.
- Collaborate with site management and Maintenance Engineers to advance compliance and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience in a QHSE, Compliance, Quality Assurance, or related role.
- Strong background in ISO system management (preferably ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) and audit leadership.
- Thorough knowledge of UK health and safety requirements.
- Outstanding organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Self-motivated, meticulous attention to detail.

Desirable:
- NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) or equivalent certification.
- IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) qualification(s).
- Experience in internal audit roles.
