What You Can Expect

Shift Pattern
- Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 16:30
Key Responsibilities
Quality Inspection
- Carry out inspections of inbound, stored, picked, packed, and outbound products.
- Verify product condition, quantity, labelling, packaging, and documentation against customer specifications.
- Conduct routine warehouse quality audits.
- Identify damaged, defective, or non-conforming products and ensure they are quarantined where appropriate.
- Monitor compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and relevant work instructions.
Compliance
- Coordinate time-critical operational requests with the Operations Lead
- Ensure compliance with customer quality requirements and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Support adherence to Health & Safety regulations and warehouse standards.
- Assist with compliance against recognised quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001) where applicable.
- Ensure accurate completion of inspection records and quality documentation.
Investigation & Corrective Action
- Record quality issues accurately and promptly.
- Investigate defects, damages, and process failures.
- Raise non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor effectiveness of corrective actions.
Operational Support
- Liaise with Warehouse Supervisors to resolve quality concerns.
- Provide guidance to operational teams on quality expectations.
- Participate in customer visits and quality audits where required.
- Support stock investigations and inventory accuracy activities.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse quality processes.
- Support Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor quality performance trends and report findings.
- Contribute ideas to reduce customer complaints and operational errors.

- Inspection accuracy.
- Customer complaint rate.

Knowledge & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience within a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Experience carrying out quality inspections or audits.
- Good understanding of warehouse processes.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Competent using Microsoft Office and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience within a third-party logistics (3PL) environment.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Understanding of root cause analysis techniques.
- Internal quality auditing experience.
- FLT licence (where operationally required).

Working Conditions
- Warehouse-based role.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.

- Shift work may be required, including weekends depending on operational requirements.
- Use of handheld scanning equipment and warehouse management systems.

Decision-Making Authority
The Quality Inspector is authorised to:
- Reject or quarantine non-conforming products.
- Escalate quality issues to management.
- Recommend corrective actions.
- Stop operational processes where significant quality or compliance risks are identified, in line with company procedures.
