The Vacancy

We’re looking for a Quality Improvement Leader to join MTC Training

MTC Training is a multi-award winning Independent Training Provider delivering high quality engineering apprenticeships and upskilling training courses.

The Quality Improvement Leader will support this ambition by strengthening the quality of teaching, learning, assessment and learner experience across apprenticeship, commercial and upskilling provision.

The post holder will provide constructive support and challenge to curriculum teams, ensuring that improvement activity is evidence-led, aligned to the Ofsted Further Education and Skills inspection expectations, and embedded within day-to-day practice rather than created solely for inspection.

The role will lead and coordinate activity that improves teaching and learning, supports inspection readiness, maintains compliance with Awarding Organisation and internal quality assurance requirements, and develops clear policies and processes that align with MTC Training and wider MTC business systems.

We’re looking for

  • Expert in improving teaching, learning, assessment and learner progress across apprenticeship or technical training provision.
  • Skilled coach and mentor who helps trainers, skills coaches and curriculum teams strengthen practice and outcomes.
  • Confident in Ofsted expectations, inspection readiness and evidence led quality improvement.
  • Experienced in internal quality assurance, standardisation, sampling and external quality assurance preparation.
  • Turns performance data, learner voice and employer feedback into clear, practical improvement actions.
  • Develops simple, effective policies, processes and guidance that improve compliance and reduce workload.
  • Builds trust quickly, communicates clearly and provides constructive challenge with professionalism and care.
  • Highly organised, detail focused and able to manage competing priorities in a fast paced quality environment.
  • Confident using digital systems, dashboards and Microsoft 365 to monitor quality, track actions and report progress.
  • Champions safeguarding, inclusion, continuous improvement and MTC values in every aspect of the role.

You’ll be responsible for

  • Delivering targeted CPD that improves teaching, learning, assessment, coaching, feedback and learner progress.
  • Conducting supportive quality reviews across classroom, workshop and workplace settings, giving clear feedback and practical actions.
  • Coaching and mentoring curriculum colleagues to strengthen planning, assessment, learner support and reflective practice.
  • Using evidence, learner voice, employer feedback and performance data to identify strengths, risks and improvement priorities.
  • Supporting colleague development plans and measure their impact on learner and apprentice experience.
  • Maintaining Ofsted readiness through self-assessment, quality improvement planning, evidence gathering and routine business practice.
  • Coordinating inspection preparation, professional discussions, readiness reviews and action tracking across key stakeholders.
  • Leading internal quality assurance activity, including sampling, standardisation, assessor support and external quality assurance preparation and engagement activity.
  • Support Awarding Organisation compliance, examinations, assessments, achievement claims and accurate record keeping.
  • Improve quality systems, policies and processes by reducing duplication, strengthening controls and enhancing learner outcomes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
