THE OPPORTUNITY
One of Oxfordshire’s most exciting precision engineering businesses is growing fast. Following a majority equity investment by a US-based aerospace and defence private equity firm, the business is expanding into aerospace and defence while continuing its established work in motorsport, medical, and energy sectors. A brand-new campus is operational, and the pipeline is strong. This is a great time to join.
THE ROLE
You’ll be part of a close-knit quality team, inspecting precision-engineered components across the full production cycle—including goods-in, first-offs, and outgoing release. The work is varied, technical, and meaningful, as the parts you sign off will be used in sectors where quality is critical. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing dimensional and visual inspections to customer and regulatory standards
- Producing FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports) and ISIRs (Inspection Related Records)
- Managing non-conformances and tracking corrective actions
- Supporting calibration and jig inspection
- Contributing to ongoing process improvements

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
