Job Description
Job Purpose
The Quality Inspector role will report to the Quality Manager at the Teledyne Energetics site in Lincoln.
The Quality Inspector will ensure products and processes meet required safety, quality and regulatory standards. The role will provide hands‑on inspection and quality assurance support to manufacturing, ensuring timely identification of issues, accurate documentation and right‑first‑time delivery. Support safe working practices, quality best practice, and the company’s Business Operating System (BOS).
Key Responsibilities
Safety
Promote and maintain a safety‑first culture Ensure inspection and testing activities follow procedures Identify and escalate safety concerns in production areas Support safe systems of work and compliance with policies
Quality
Perform inspection of parts and assemblies to drawings and specifications Ensure compliance with internal, customer and regulatory requirements (e.g. AS9100) Support right‑first‑time manufacturing and defect reduction Raise and manage non‑conformances in line with company processes Support root cause analysis and corrective actions Complete and review Certificates of Conformity (CoCs) and quality documents Maintain accurate inspection and quality records

Production Support
Provide goods‑in, in‑process and final inspection support Work with production teams to resolve quality issues in real time Support achievement of production targets while maintaining quality standards Communicate quality concerns clearly Provide guidance to operators on quality requirements
Business Operating System & Daily Management
Support and reinforce the Business Operating System (BOS) Participate in daily management and tier meetings when required Maintain accurate quality metrics and visual management boards Support structured escalation of quality issues Promote adherence to standard work and quality processes
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve quality and inspection methods Support CI and waste‑reduction activities Contribute to standardisation and best practice implementation Support introduction of improved inspection techniques or equipment
Essential
Skills & Experience
Experience in inspection or quality assurance in a manufacturing environment Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Strong understanding of quality standards and regulatory requirements Experience completing quality documentation (e.g. CoCs, NCRs) Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills and ability to work with production teams Competent IT skills and familiarity with quality systems Methodical, organised and accurate approach
Desirable
Experience working to AS9100 or other regulated industry standards Knowledge of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) Experience with root cause tools (5 Why, fishbone, 8D) Experience in continuous improvement or lean environments Qualification in quality or engineering discipline
