£35 per hour via Umbrella
Portsmouth (On-site)
BPSS Clearance Required
Initial 6-month contract with likely extension

ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is a global leader in the aerospace and space industry, delivering cutting-edge technologies that support critical national and international space programmes. They are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their specialist production team, ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacture and testing of complex space equipment within a cleanroom environment.

If you have a strong quality inspection background within aerospace, defence, manufacturing or another highly regulated engineering environment, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the production of mission-critical hardware.

THE QUALITY INSPECTOR ROLE

As the Quality Inspector, you'll play a key role in ensuring flight hardware and associated equipment meet stringent aerospace and space industry standards throughout production and testing.

You'll be responsible for promoting a quality-first culture, carrying out detailed inspections, supporting investigations into non-conformances and ensuring cleanroom activities comply with industry regulations and internal procedures.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Performing quality inspections of flight hardware and test equipment within a cleanroom environment
  • Verifying builds comply with design specifications and ECSS quality standards
  • Identifying, recording and supporting investigations into non-conformances
  • Supporting root cause analysis activities to prevent repeat quality issues
  • Conducting documentation reviews, approvals and quality verification activities
  • Supporting Key Inspection Points (KIPs) and critical production milestones
  • Promoting world-class workmanship, cleanroom disciplines and 5S practices
  • Monitoring compliance with Health & Safety and environmental controls
  • Supporting internal audits and quality assurance activities
  • Maintaining quarantine processes and ensuring product conformity throughout manufacture

  • Experience working as a Quality Inspector within aerospace, defence or another highly regulated manufacturing environment
  • Experience carrying out product, assembly or manufacturing inspections
  • Ability to identify, document and investigate non-conformances
  • Experience supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings, manufacturing documentation and quality procedures

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAD...

  • Experience working within cleanroom environments
  • Knowledge of ECSS quality standards
  • Experience supporting aerospace or space manufacturing programmes
  • Internal auditing experience
  • Understanding of flight hardware inspection processes
