About the Company
My client is an established, high-technology manufacturing business operating across multiple international sites. The company designs and produces high-precision metal components for demanding engineering applications. Continuous growth is driven by strong customer demand and ongoing investment.
The Role
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Inspector with strong CMM expertise to support precision manufacturing operations. This role ensures that components meet exacting quality and engineering standards throughout the production lifecycle.
The position is based at a modern UK manufacturing facility near Oxford and reports to the Head of Production. A highly competitive remuneration package is offered.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional inspection of precision components using CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) equipment (manual and CNC).
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications.
- Programme and operate CMM systems using PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar software.
- Own and maintain relevant inspection control plans.
- Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections.
- Accurately document inspection results and produce quality reports.
- Identify non-conformances and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
- Ensure inspection equipment is calibrated, maintained, and kept in a controlled condition.

Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience as a Quality Inspector in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Experience in root cause analysis.
- Strong hands-on experience operating and programming CMM machines.
- Solid understanding of GD&T and mechanical inspection techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
Desirable Skills
- Experience within aerospace, automotive, or medical device manufacturing.
- Proficiency with additional inspection equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.).
- Exposure to Statistical Process Control (SPC) and structured quality documentation systems.
