Job Title: Quality Lead and Registered Manager
Location: Southend-on-Sea
Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 depending on experience
Job type: Full Time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Are you an experienced leader in adult social care with a passion for quality, continuous improvement and delivering outstanding care?
Southend Care is looking for an ambitious and motivated Quality Lead and Registered Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping quality across our organisation while maintaining Registered Manager responsibility for our CQC regulated Shared Lives scheme.
This is a unique opportunity to work directly with the Director of Operations, influencing quality across a diverse range of adult social care services and helping ensure the people we support receive safe, effective and person-centred care.
About The Role
As Quality Lead, you will champion continuous improvement across Southend Care. You'll lead our quality assurance programme, support services to prepare for inspections, identify opportunities for learning and improvement, and provide assurance to senior leaders through insightful reporting and analysis.
Alongside this organisation-wide role, you will be the Registered Manager for our Shared Lives scheme, ensuring the service continues to provide high quality, family-based support that enables people to live fulfilling and independent lives.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead Southend Care's quality assurance and continuous improvement programme.
- Chair our Quality Improvement Forum and improvement working groups.
- Coordinate audits, mock inspections and quality reviews to support regulatory readiness.
- Analyse quality and performance information to identify themes, risks and opportunities.
- Support managers to implement meaningful service improvements.
- Promote organisational learning from audits, inspections, complaints and compliments.
- Maintain Registered Manager responsibility for our Shared Lives scheme.
- Lead the Shared Lives team, ensuring compliance with CQC regulations and best practice.
- Develop positive relationships with commissioners, partners, carers and families to strengthen and grow the Shared Lives service.
- Promote a culture of innovation, accountability and continuous improvement across Southend Care.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has significant experience leading regulated adult social care services.
- Has experience as a Registered Manager or can demonstrate they meet CQC Registered Manager requirements.
- Has experience of quality assurance, service improvement or inspection readiness.
- Has excellent leadership, communication and report writing skills.
- Can analyse information, identify themes and translate findings into meaningful improvements.
- Is confident providing constructive challenge and supporting services to improve.
- Has a strong understanding of adult social care legislation, safeguarding and regulation.
- Shares our values of being Caring, Passionate, Diverse, Empowering and Innovative.
- Experience of Shared Lives is desirable but not essential.
