About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Quality Lead to join Manthorpe Building Products. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the Quality Management System (QMS), lead a high-performing team, and play a key role in ensuring our products consistently meet customer, industry, and regulatory standards.

What You'll Be Doing

As Quality Lead, you'll be responsible for leading all quality activities across the site, ensuring products and processes meet the highest standards while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Managing and continuously improving the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Leading internal audits and supporting external and customer audits, ensuring audit readiness and compliance.
  • Maintaining quality documentation including FMEAs, Control Plans, process flows, and inspection procedures.
  • Leading, coaching, and developing the Quality team to drive high performance and accountability.
  • Planning and prioritising daily quality activities to support production and inspection requirements.
  • Overseeing product quality from incoming materials through to final delivery.
  • Supporting new product introduction through APQP, FAIR, and PPAP activities.
  • Defining Critical to Quality (CTQ) requirements with technical teams.
  • Leading root cause analysis and corrective actions using tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone.
  • Analysing quality data to identify trends and implement improvements.
  • Acting as the key contact for customer quality issues and managing resolutions effectively.
  • Monitoring supplier quality performance and supporting supplier development.
  • Driving Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and reduce waste.
  • Leading cross-functional improvement and problem-solving activities.
  • Monitoring KPIs such as PPM, First Pass Yield, and Cost of Quality to drive performance improvements.
  • Ensuring compliance with Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental standards.
  • Promoting safe working practices, including within controlled or cleanroom environments.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a motivated quality professional who brings both strong technical expertise and proven leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.

You'll Ideally Have

  • A degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Plastics, Industrial, Chemical) or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience in a quality or manufacturing environment, ideally within plastics.
  • Strong experience working with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality tools including FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA.
  • Experience using structured problem-solving techniques such as 8D and 5 Whys.
  • The ability to analyse quality data and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing quality principles and best practice.
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and prioritisation abilities.
  • A proactive, detail-focused approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and commitment to professional development.
