AESC Quality Management System Auditor

AESC is a global leader in the development and manufacturing of high-performance lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage systems. With significant growth plans in Sunderland, AESC is expanding its workforce to support the transition to sustainable mobility and the future of battery manufacturing.

Mission & Main Objectives

  • Further develop and benchmark AESC UK Quality Management System which is independently certificated to IATF16949:2016.
  • Develop a program of audits to ensure compliance with relevant standards and customer requirements.
  • Conduct Internal QMS audits to plan.
  • Facilitate Quality Management System standardisation in the UK and with other global regions.

Outline and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and further develop the existing Quality Management System to ensure it satisfies the needs of the business.
  • Work with Corporate QMS teams to develop group level processes and documentation aligned to certificated standards and industry best practice.
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate customer audit and third-party audits (such as certification and surveillance audits).
  • Internal audit schedule planning - system/process/product audits across multiple production sites.
  • Carry out internal system/process/product audits across multiple production sites.
  • Monitor NCR and OFI status including supporting auditee with corrective action/improvement plans.
  • Supervise QMS technicians.
  • Mentoring and delivery of Quality Management System training as required.

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • HNC or equivalent in related Quality Assurance/Systems/engineering or science subject.
  • Lead Auditor certification and experience preferred – IATF16949 / VDA6.3 or other certificated/regulated standards.
  • Extensive experience of Quality Management System - IATF 16949:2016 / ISO9001:2015 / VDA6.3:2023 or other certificated management systems - system implementation, development and maintenance experience.
  • Experience of third-party audit / customer audit.
  • Internal systems audit – experience of planning, conducting, monitoring.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office experience.

  • Flexible for UK and occasional overseas travel.
