Site Quality Manager

Location: Leeds Site – West Yorkshire

Contract Type: Permanent (Monthly Paid, 35 hours/week – Flexible Hours Occasionally Required)

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual to join our Quality Control Department as the Site Quality Manager at our West Yorkshire site in Leeds. Reporting to the Quality Director, this role requires expertise in managing and supervising quality standards, meeting regulatory compliance (ISO and BRC), and driving continuous improvement within manufacturing processes to ensure aligns both company and customer requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Management:

    • Oversee the Quality Control Department, including planning, people management, and performance development.
    • Align department strategy with key customer needs and business objectives.
    • Develop and implement processes to enhance operational efficiency and quality integrity.
  • Quality & Compliance:

    • Establish, maintain, and enforce quality specifications, methods, and control measures across manufacturing.
    • Ensure compliance with ISO and BRC standards while minimising waste and redesign activity.
    • Manage equipment control, approvals, and HSE systems, ensuring tools and infrastructure support quality goals.

  • Process Improvement & Innovation:

    • Implement quality control measures in all phases of production.
    • Drive process refinements, KPI establishment, and new initiative launches.
    • Steer Capex projects and relationships with third-party contract manufacturers.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Relations:

    • Maintain strong connections with internal teams, suppliers, and external customers.
    • Represent quality goals to manufacturers and industry partners.
    • Communicate clearly with regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance feedback is actioned.

Essential Requirements

  • Leadership Presence: Demonstrated ability to guide a team, facilitate growth, and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Conflict Resolution: Handle disputes and disagreements professionally while maintaining trust and collaboration.
  • Technical Knowledge: Background in manufacturing quality control, ideally with experience in glass production or beverage industries.
  • Quality Management Understanding: Familiarity with ISO accreditation (9001), BRCGS, and GDP principles is highly beneficial.
  • Driving Improvement: Track KPIs, evaluate process efficiency, and implement changes to enhance performance.
  • Strong IT Competency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting, analytics, and presentations.

Additional Considerations

  • While supervisory experience is preferable, we welcome candidates who excel in driving quality initiatives without traditional management backgrounds.
  • A strong personality with a can-do attitude, initiative, autonomy, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in written and oral communication is required, with frequent interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
