Quality Manager (Decentralised Warehousing / Distribution) – Global Engineering Operation

About the Role

Join a well-established global distribution operation in the West Midlands as an experienced Quality Manager. This is an outstanding opportunity for a confident, hands-on quality professional to lead a small team and help sustain high-quality standards across incoming goods, warehouse operations, and site compliance.

Job Title & Details

  • Role: Quality Manager
  • Salary: £47,000 per annum + Benefits
  • Location: West Midlands
  • Working Pattern: Mon–Fri, 8:30am–5:00pm (onsite)

The Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of 4 Quality Inspectors, fostering growth and accountability.
  • Oversee incoming goods inspection, certifications, and release to ensure adherence to specifications, quantities, and condition standards.
  • Collaborate with warehouse operations to maintain compliance with internal processes.
  • Champion HSE standards across the entire site while helping manage ISO9001 (Quality) & ISO14001 (Environmental) compliance.
  • Build strong relationships across all levels of the business, from shop floor teams to senior stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement and support everything from fasteners to industrial components meeting customer expectations.

Key Requirements

  • Proven leadership in managing quality teams within engineering, manufacturing, or distribution.
  • Analytical and hands-on with a practical, detail-oriented approach — past experience mentoring team members and improving processes is essential.
  • Strong influence & communication skills — ability to:
    • Engage effectively with shop floor workers.
    • Articulate to senior stakeholders confidently.
    • Align quality improvements with business objectives.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards is a must.
  • Team development and coaching experience — ideally from someone moving into a senior quality Manager role post-(Senior Quality Engineer).
