About the Role
Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and flexible Quality Manager to join our Environmental Science division at Bretby. In this role, you will:
- Wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride, contributing to our mission of building a safer and more sustainable world.
- Lead day-to-day quality functions, ensuring compliance with UKAS 17025 accreditation and applicable MCerts standards.
- Work both independently and as part of a multi-functional team, ensuring laboratory accreditation excellence.
This role requires a solid background in chemistry and laboratory operations, along with deep knowledge of UKAS 17025 and MCerts standards.
Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Oversee and maintain compliance of the Management System, ensuring it supports UKAS accreditation 17025 and applicable MCerts.
- Audit scheduling and execution, including:
- Conducting technical and management system audits within the labs.
- Managing internal audits while leading UKAS, customer, and external audits.
- Customer complaint & quality control management, ensuring timely resolution of issues from audits in collaboration with relevant Business Unit representatives.
- Convene and chair monthly Quality meetings, conducting management reviews, and tracking/closing actions from these meetings to inform trend analysis.

Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate must have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Quality role.
- Internal auditing experience and training.
- A proven track record of success in ensuring compliance, audit readiness, and continual improvement.
- Thorough understanding of chemistry and laboratory processes.
