What You’ll Do…
The Quality Manager – Incoming Quality is responsible for establishing and governing robust incoming quality processes to ensure that all materials entering manufacturing meet defined specifications and quality requirements.
Acting as the key interface between supplier quality, manufacturing, and verification functions, this role drives a risk-based, prevention-focused approach to incoming quality. You will ensure material readiness, prevent defects at source, and support a right-first-time manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Incoming Quality Governance
Define and implement incoming quality processes aligned with IATF 16949 Develop risk-based inspection strategies based on supplier performance and product criticality Ensure compliance of incoming materials with specifications, BOM, and traceability requirements Own Incoming Quality Control Plans and material status management
Risk Management & Prevention
Drive early risk identification and preventive quality controls Lead containment and escalation of incoming quality issues Monitor performance trends and address systemic risks
Verification Strategy
Define inspection and testing requirements based on risk Coordinate with laboratory teams to ensure MSA capability and timely results Oversee effectiveness of verification activities
Supplier Quality Integration
Interface with Supplier Quality to drive feedback and improvements Support 8D problem-solving and validation of corrective actions Contribute to supplier audits and performance reviews

Who We Are…
Agratas is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons. We will design, develop and manufacture high-quality, high-performance, sustainable batteries for the mobility and energy sectors. We are a scale-up business with a start-up mentality and the backing of a well-established parent company. The UK business headquarters is in the Midlands and we are currently building a battery manufacturing facility in Bridgwater, Somerset.
Essential
What you’ll bring…
Strong experience in Incoming Quality within manufacturing (automotive, battery, or high-volume preferred) Proven expertise in: Risk-based inspection strategies Supplier quality integration Quality assurance and process governance Working knowledge of AIAG Core Tools: PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA (governance level) Strong understanding of IATF 16949 requirements Experience leading technical or quality teams Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field

Experience with electrochemical materials or battery components Exposure to scale-up or high-growth manufacturing environments Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or above)
