Regional Quality Manager


Industry & Location

  • Industry: Civil Engineering (Rail, Highways, Aviation, Renewable Energy, Flood Alleviation)
  • Regions: Scotland
  • Office Location: Cumbernauld (with remote support for regional teams)

About the Role

We’re excited to welcome an experienced Quality Manager to our SHEQ team in Scotland!

As the regional lead, you’ll:

  • Deploy a robust right-first-time approach, ensuring:
    • All projects adhere to business systems and controls.
    • A culture of continuous improvement is embedded.
  • Lead on regional quality leadership, implementing a sustainable quality and operational excellence programme:
    • Collaborate across AmcoGiffen to develop a quality toolkit.
    • Drive smarter work practices to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining safety standards.

1. Strategy & Governance

  • Support the SHEQ Strategy & Quality Management Strategy in the Scotland region.
  • Ensure BMS Compliance across regional projects.

2. Pre-Project & Project Support

  • Facilate Quality Readiness Reviews before project commencement.
  • Develop risk-based quality plans and mitigation strategies.
  • Assess quality maturity via Deep Dive Audits (compliant with internal Audits & Inspections Procedures).

3. Quality Management

  • Align project teams with BMS-compliant assurance plans throughout the lifecycle.
  • Provide tendering support with quality insights and information.
  • Generate periodic quality reports per client and internal requirements.

4. Tool Development & Culture

  • Create and refine quality-specific procedures aligned with industry standards.
  • Lead training & awareness initiatives to foster a quality culture.
  • Share lessons and benefits across other regions.

5. Improvement & Collaboration

  • Track quality performance indicators to identify trends.
  • Engage management/engineering teams on quality initiatives.
  • Represent AmcoGiffen at relevant client forums.
  • Collaborate on cost reduction tied to poor-quality outcomes.
  • Utilise external quality assurance/supply chain resources.

Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience in Quality/Engineering roles, with a civil engineering focus.
  • Membership or ambition to join the Chartered Quality Institute.
  • Strong grasp of project delivery, engineering processes, and documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with Integrated Management Systems.
  • Certified Lead Auditor (ISO 9001:2015).
  • Ability to apply risk-based approaches aligned with AmcoGiffen’s Quality Strategy.
  • Experience with risk tools (5 Whys, 8D, FMEA, APQP, Lean Principles).
  • Full eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook.

  • NEBOSH certificate.
  • HNC in Engineering/Construction.
  • Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification.
