At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
Your Impact
You know that quality is about far more than compliance.
In this role, you'll help shape how major infrastructure and engineering projects are delivered, ensuring quality is embedded from the outset rather than inspected in at the end.
- You'll work alongside Programme Directors, Project Managers, Technical Directors and project teams to reduce risk, strengthen governance and improve delivery performance.
- Your expertise will help teams identify issues before they become problems, improve consistency across projects, and translate lessons learned into practical improvements that benefit future work.
- You'll play a key role in creating confidence for clients, delivery teams and partners by ensuring projects are governed effectively, contractual requirements are met, and quality standards are applied in a way that supports successful project outcomes.
- Your influence will extend beyond individual projects. The systems, processes and improvements you develop will help raise standards across programmes, frameworks and delivery teams.
About The Opportunity
We're looking for a Quality Manager to join our Delivery Excellence team and help shape how major engineering and infrastructure projects are delivered.
This is a role for someone who sees quality as more than compliance. You'll work alongside Programme Directors, Project Managers, Technical Directors and project teams to embed effective quality management practices that improve project performance, reduce risk and strengthen client confidence.
- Supporting a diverse portfolio of programmes and projects, you'll help teams navigate complex contractual, regulatory and governance requirements while ensuring quality is embedded throughout the project lifecycle.
- You'll develop practical quality plans, assurance processes and governance frameworks that support successful delivery rather than create unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Working across project teams, clients and delivery partners, you'll identify risks and opportunities early, lead reviews and audits, support root cause investigations, and use project data and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
- You'll also play a key role in helping teams improve ways of working, share best practice and deliver better outcomes for clients and stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
