Quality & Manufacturing Engineering Lead

Location: Allen & Heath, Penryn, Cornwall

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

At Allen & Heath, we're passionate about designing and manufacturing professional audio equipment used by leading artists, venues and broadcasters around the world.

We're looking for an experienced engineering professional to join our Manufacturing team and lead quality improvement initiatives across our products, manufacturing processes and global supply chain.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering problems, driving continuous improvement and working across multiple disciplines to deliver exceptional products.

The level of appointment and package will reflect your skills and experience, and we welcome applications from experienced Quality Engineers through to Quality Managers and Production Engineering Managers.


About the role

This is a highly collaborative position, working closely with our R&D, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Product Support teams to ensure our products achieve the highest standards of quality from concept through to production.

You'll have the opportunity to influence product design, manufacturing processes and supplier performance, helping us continually improve the way we build and support our products. You'll also play a key role in developing quality strategy, driving continuous improvement and supporting our global manufacturing operations.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading investigations into product and manufacturing quality issues using structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Driving root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring products are designed and introduced with manufacturability and quality in mind.
  • Analysing customer returns, field failures and production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Developing quality standards, documentation and best practice across manufacturing.
  • Working with suppliers to improve component quality and resolve technical issues.
  • Collaborating with our global manufacturing partners to deliver consistent quality across all production sites.
  • Leading cross-functional improvement projects that enhance product quality, customer satisfaction and manufacturing performance.

About you

We're looking for someone who combines technical expertise with a passion for continuous improvement.

You may come from a quality, manufacturing or production engineering background and have experience leading improvement initiatives within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience in quality, manufacturing or production engineering within an electronics or high-technology manufacturing environment.
  • A track record of improving manufacturing quality, processes and operational performance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using structured root cause analysis techniques.
  • The ability to influence and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and customer support teams.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and a genuine desire to drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience within electronics manufacturing would be advantageous, although we're equally interested in candidates from other high-technology manufacturing sectors.
  • Knowledge of professional audio products is beneficial but not essential.
