About RWM
One of Europe's most modern production facilities is currently being set up in Telford – the "UK Gun Hall" project.
Rheinmetall Weapon Munitions UK Limited (RWM UK) – a wholly owned subsidiary of the Rheinmetall Group and part of the Weapon and Ammunition Division – is Rheinmetall's centre of excellence for the production and maintenance of large calibre weapon systems in the United Kingdom.
Position Overview
Quality Measurement Specialist will work in a small team, with tasks for measuring barrels, breech blocks, and breech rings. The production steps are coordinated with CNC-operators based on the measuring results. The reports are entered into SAP and other data management systems.
Intensive training will take place on the job in our Telford facility.
Position Responsibilities
- Operating Zeiss and Hexagon CMM machines or similar, including set-up, alignment, fixture loading, programme selection, and measurement execution in line with inspection plans
- Inspection of mechanically processed components during and after production using hand-held measuring instruments, testing, electronic measuring devices, or 3D measuring machines, e.g., Zeiss Prismo or similar
- Testing components in accordance with test instructions, including the preparation of corresponding test reports
- Reviewing and communicating measurement results to CNC operators and production leadership so machining decisions are based on verified data
- Feedback of test procedures and results to the BDE system
- Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards
- Comply with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality requirements

What Qualifications You Should Have
Essential
- Completed vocational training as an industrial mechanic, CMM operator, CNC operator, or comparable
- Experience ideally in the dimensional inspection and CMM measurement of mechanically machined components
- Confident in reading complex technical drawings and creating measurement concepts
- Experience operating Zeiss and/or Hexagon CMM measuring machines, ideally with Zeiss CALYPSO and Hexagon measurement software such as PC-DMIS where applicable
- Competent in the use of conventional and electronic measuring equipment, including micrometers, vernier/digital calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, dial indicators, and thread, plug, or ring gauges
- Confident in following inspection plans, recording results accurately, and raising out-of-tolerance or equipment issues promptly
- Willingness to work in a 3-shift pattern
- Structured and independent way of working, team and communication skills, flexibility, and reliability
