About the Role

In today’s complex global tax landscape, trusted Quality Risk Management is critical. The Quality Risk Manager (QRM) EMEA Tax will lead quality and risk practices for the A&M Tax Practice in EMEA, ensuring robust processes, compliance, and proactive risk mitigation. You will develop strategies to enhance quality assurance, guide cross-functional teams, and act as a single point of contact for regulatory and contractual queries—balancing stakeholder engagement with strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and refining quality risk management policies and contracting standards
  • Assessing and mitigating risks that could impact product quality/compliance
  • Developing standardisation and assurance protocols to improve efficiency
  • Producing regular risk reports and presenting findings to senior leadership
  • Training teams on best practices and technical/functional skill development
  • Staying ahead of regulatory trends and industry standards

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop quality risk management policies and procedures and ensure their implementation
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential threats to quality/regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute risk mitigation strategies
  • Monitor and review risk management effectiveness, incorporating feedback for continuous improvement
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., tax-specific laws, industry standards)
  • Provide training and guidance to teams on risk management and quality processes
  • Prepare and present risk management reports for senior management
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging risks in quality and tax compliance
  • Draft, update, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manuals to align with industry regulations
  • Implement standardisation processes to enhance consistency and quality

Requirements

Desired Profile: ✔ Deep experience in quality risk management, or equivalent—preferably in a Big 4/firm context ✔ Strong analytical mindset with an ability to synthesise complex risks into actionable solutions ✔ Hands-on experience in tax-specific audit/treatment, with ICAEW/CPA/tax lawyer qualification highly advantageous ✔ Proven regulatory expertise and knowledge of industry standards (e.g., TFRS, FATCA) ✔ Exceptional problem-solving skills, supported by commercial acumen ✔ Stakeholder influence and collaborative approach, with a track record of driving change ✔ Exceptional communication skills—ability to mentor teams and interact with senior leadership ✔ Comfortable making fast-paced strategic decisions under pressure ✔ Highly motivated self-starter with a continuous learning mindset ✔ Ability to work effectively both autonomously and globally within matrix teams
