QSHE Manager – UK Engineering Operation
Purpose of the Role
The QSHE Manager is responsible for ensuring active compliance with regulatory standards and fostering a strong safety culture across the entire UK Engineering operation. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing safety compliance tools and systems.
- Conducting site audits.
- Supporting new contract setups from an H&S perspective.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives.
The role requires collaboration with team members, clients, and stakeholders to maintain and elevate QSHE standards across site-based engineering, regional networks, and in-house engineering. Reporting lines will follow through the Safety+ team.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Audits
- Oversee compliance with all QSHE-related logbooks & systems, ensuring accurate records.
- Regularly review and audit engineering compliance against regulatory, company standards, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure all incidents, near-misses, and safety observations are properly documented and tracked.
- Implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
Hazard & Risk Management
- Identify potential hazards and risks, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed QSHE reports based on ad-hoc requests, highlighting findings, recommendations, and improvement areas. Follow up on audit findings to ensure effective resolution & risk mitigation.

Safety Culture & Training
- Champion a strong safety culture across all levels of the UK Engineering operation.
- Develop, implement, and deliver safety training programs and toolbox talks for employees and contractors.
- Facilitate employee participation in safety initiatives and committees.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the highest HSE standards (“lead by example”).
Regulatory Compliance & Policy Development
- Stay updated with current QSHE regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Ensure Savills & UK Engineering’s QSHE policies and procedures comply with applicable laws.
- Develop and implement new QSHE policies, procedures, and training as required.
Contract & Operational Support
- Provide QSHE expertise during the setup of new contracts.
- Conduct QSHE assessments and audits for new sites, providing risk mitigation.
- Ensure alignment of QSHE plans with client requirements and regulatory standards.
- Assist and guide in the production of Risk Assessments (RAMS), Method Statements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Training & Development
- Train and assist new team members with QSHE policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Oversee incident/near-miss reporting and support investigations, promoting corrective action.

Analysis & Improvement
- Track and analyze accident/incident trends to identify improvement opportunities.
- Work with surveyors, site teams, and client stakeholders to resolve QSHE queries.
Proactive & Strategic Focus
- Safeguard client assets and business by mitigating risks from incidents.
- Collaborate with internal Savills specialists to develop and monitor quality & environmental metrics.
- Attend client meetings as required.
- Identify opportunities for continuous QSHE improvements.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 5 years of QSHE experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Experience preferably in facilities management or building services.
- Professional certification such as Technical Member of IOSH (or equivalent).
- Demonstrable communication & client-focused approach.
- Proactive, compliance-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

- Leadership experience in QSHE roles.
- Innovative problem-solving skills.
- Strong technical & financial awareness.
- Proven ability to collaborate across departments.
Hours & Notes
Working Hours: 37.5 hrs/week (#LI-DNI)
