Lead Quality Specialist (Quality Management)
Location: Nailsea, UK Contract: 12+ Months Pay Range: £360 – £400/day (inside IR35)
Roles and Responsibilities
- Act as the quality lead for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with:
- Customer requirements
- Industry standards
- Quality management systems
- Develop and manage:
- Project Quality Plans (PQP)
- Inspection & Test Plans (ITP)
- Quality documentation throughout the project lifecycle
- Lead the following to drive continuous improvement:
- Quality reviews
- Audits
- Non-conformance investigations
- Root cause analysis (RCA)
- CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) activities
- Partner with:
- Engineering
- Procurement
- Manufacturing
- Suppliers
- Site teams to embed quality across all project phases
- Monitor quality performance
- Manage supplier quality activities
- Provide reporting on:
- Key quality metrics
- Risks
- Improvement opportunities

Required Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of:
- Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- ISO 9001 and other international quality standards
- Experience with API and ASME standards
- Proven expertise in:
- Managing Project Quality Plans (PQP)
- Developing and implementing Inspection & Test Plans (ITP)
- In-depth understanding of:
- Non-conformance management
- CAPA processes
- Root cause analysis methodologies (such as 8D, FMEA, or PDAC)
- Experience conducting:
- Supplier audits
- Internal audits
- Customer audits
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and effectively manage stakeholders in complex, high-pressure environments
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
