Job Summary
Provide site leadership and technical oversight for supplier quality, product quality control, inspection activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. Serve as the focal point for supplier qualification, process control, quality assurance, inspection execution, nonconformance management, and quality personnel supervision to ensure products, assemblies, and services consistently meet customer, regulatory, engineering, and Cactus quality requirements.
Essential Functions, Roles, and Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.
Supplier Quality Management
- Serve as the focal point for supplier quality activities,
- Lead supplier development initiatives to improve quality, delivery, cycle time, and overall performance,
- Conduct supplier assessments, audits, surveillances, First Piece Qualifications (FPQ), and compliance evaluations.
- Partner with sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, operations, and project management teams to resolve supplier quality issues and eliminate process barriers.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics and develop improvement plans where required.
Quality Supervision
- Manage Internal nonconformance reports (NCRs) for Service site and Customer issued NCRs.
- Oversee execution of quality control inspections including visual, dimensional, functional, NDE, and final acceptance inspections performed by on-site QC inspectors.
- Ensure inspectors utilize appropriate inspection methods, equipment, gauges, and measuring devices. Be able to verify products, parts, assemblies, and subassemblies conform to engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, standards, and customer requirements.
- Review and approve inspection records, reports, logs, certifications, and quality documentation.
- Review technical drawings, specifications, manufacturing procedures, inspection plans, and quality requirements.
- Participate in Detailed Design Review (where invited) and disposition activities.
- Lead or support root cause investigations, corrective actions, preventive actions, and effectiveness reviews.
- Participate in internal, customer, supplier, and regulatory audits - Ensure readiness for audits and support closure of audit findings.
- Assess compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, ISO9001 and regulatory standards.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on defect reduction, process capability, delivery performance, and cost reduction.
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of inspection and measurement equipment.
- Maintain and utilize business systems including Oracle, quality databases, and inspection management systems. Support document control and records management requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams to improve product quality and operational efficiency.
- Promote adherence to company values, quality policies, and competency management programs.
- Support succession planning, skills development, and performance management activities.
- Promote quality culture and defect prevention throughout local operations and supplier operations.

Health, Safety & Environment
- Actively support and promote HSE programs and initiatives.
- Ensure all work activities are conducted in accordance with risk assessments, permits, procedures, and company HSE requirements.
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas.
- Immediately stop and report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, quality risks, or compliance concerns.
- Review applicable ORAs, HRAs, MOCs, and work permits prior to commencing activities.
Authorities
- Stop work whenever there is a risk to quality, safety, environment, compliance, or product integrity.
- Approve or reject products, components, suppliers, and processes based on compliance with specified requirements.
- Escalate supplier, manufacturing, quality, or compliance issues that may impact delivery or customer satisfaction.
- Recommend supplier qualification, disqualification, or development actions.
Education, Training, Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in quality control, supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or related functions.
- Experience with fabrication, machining, assembly, and inspection of industrial or oilfield equipment is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, metrology, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, audits, and quality systems.
- Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively across global and cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Supplier Quality Engineering experience (in API 6A / 16A compliant equipment is preferred).
- Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent continuous improvement certification.
- Experience conducting supplier audits and process qualification activities.
- Applicants at added advantage: NDE/NDT certifications (UT, RT, MT, PT, VT), Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), International Welding Engineer (IWE), or equivalent and experience with large CNC machining centers, horizontal boring mills, vertical turning lathes, and related manufacturing processes.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate Quality Control Inspectors and related quality personnel.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, coaching, and competency development for inspection team on site.
- Establish inspection priorities and allocate resources to support operations and customer demands.
