The Tri-force Forensic Alliance brings together hundreds of people with the same aim – to keep the communities of South Wales, Gwent, and Dyfed Powys safe.

We want to be the best at understanding and responding to our community’s needs. To do this we need the very best candidates from a wide range of backgrounds to apply to become part of our policing family.

We are a collaborative multi-discipline Forensic Service for the 3 Southern Wales forces which delivers a fit for future forensic provision to investigating teams and communities.

We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a Quality Support Assistant in our Quality Management Team. Could you be who we are looking for?

About The Team/Department You Will Be Joining

The Tri Force Forensic Alliance (TFFA) serves the communities of Dyfed Powys, South Wales Police and Gwent Police areas and comprises diverse forensic units including Crime Scene Investigation, Forensic Collision Investigation, Specialist Imaging, Evidence Recovery, Fingerprint Comparison, Drugs Examination and Digital Forensic Units.

You will be joining the Quality Management Team who support all forensic units in the delivery of quality standards required by the statutory Forensic Science Regulator’s Code of Practice and other relevant regulatory standards.

About The Role And Your Key Responsibilities

You will support the Forensic Units within the TFFA to maintain their existing UKAS accreditations and expand scope as necessary. You will also support units to work to BS EN ISO: 17025, ISO: 17020 standards, the statutory Forensic Science Regulator’s Code of Practice, ILAC G: 19 and any other regulatory requirements.

Based in Carmarthen, you will conduct quality audits of procedures within the TFFA forensic units, primarily in the Dyfed Powys force area, and raise any identified non-conformances or recommendations for improvements. You will support the maintenance of TFFA Quality Management System (QMS), including the maintenance of schedules and document control.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
