What are we looking for
We have an opportunity for a Quality Technical Inspector, responsible for inspecting and validation of supplied items, sub-assembled items and fully assembled items to ensure they meet up-to-date technical drawings and regulatory requirements. The role involves conducting inspections, documenting findings, identifying defects, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maintain high-quality manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections on supplied items, both machined and non-machined, sub-assembled items and fully assembled items for Goods In.
- Perform final QC inspections of items and assemblies by confirming against known and up-to-date technical drawings and specifications, including visual and dimensional checks as required for Goods Out.
- Document and communicate any deviations to the Senior Quality Engineer and other key stakeholders. Raise NCF/ NCR (Non-Conformance) as necessary.
- Record data on all new procedures performed on new parts if FAIR is required.
- Perform capability/ Gauge R&R/ MSA studies as requested.
- Work closely with production teams to resolve quality issues.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, customer requirements, and company procedures.
- Identify and escalate issues to Senior Quality Engineer as well as participating in the resolution as required.
- Identify and support continuous improvement activities.
About You
Knowledge and Experience
- Engineering qualification preferred
- Basic qualifications in mathematics/science and/or relevant apprenticeship preferred
- Capacity to learn to use different measurement equipment – e.g. VMM – Visual Measurement Machine, Hexagon Arm CMM – Co-Ordinate Measurement Machine, Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, various gauges, etc
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T)
- Good GDP
- Knowledge in ERP/ MRP systems (D365) & ability to navigate systems for quality orders/ tasks
- Knowledge/ ability of raising Non-Conformance Report (NCF/ NCR)
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication, analytical and IT skills (e.g. Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab)
- Positive attitude with a ‘can do’ mindset when faced with a challenge
- Proficient in the use of metrology tools
- Ability to read & understand technical and detailed engineering drawings
- Listening, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read & interpret quality standards and clearly communicate with the relevant stakeholders any/ all quality issues found
- Can prioritise a workload to provide optimal output
- Analytical thinker
- Attention to detail
- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Ability to use Polyworks software, Mitutoyo Quick Vision software or similar
