Pay range: £22,100 - 35,400
Placement within the salary range will depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity considerations.
Job Summary
Bio-Techne is a world-leading developer and manufacturer of high-quality biological reagents. We are seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our RUO Manufacturing QC team in Bristol.
The successful candidate will form a key part of the QC Team, receiving samples for testing, conducting some routine testing activities and supporting other QC members to progress products through to quality release. The QC technician would be expected to follow procedures to conduct tasks to support the efficient functioning of the QC laboratory.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to all documented procedures relating to the work carried out
- Use predetermined specification proposals to create specification documents
- Receive and book in samples into the QC laboratory, send samples for external testing, and process returned results
- Abide to company’s safe working practices by following appropriate documentation and COSHH regulations and maintaining a high level of tidiness
- Carry out calibration of QC laboratory equipment as required
- Prepare and maintain stocks of reagents, solvents, chemicals and consumables as required
- Support QC testing by obtaining data for simple analysis such as NMR, MS, Solubility, Optical Rotation, and other tests as appropriate
- Interpret and report results for simple analysis such as Appearance, Microanalysis, Optical Rotation and external microbiological testing and other tests as appropriate

Required Qualifications
- A Level in Chemistry or other relevant Science qualification
- Strong communication and listening skills and an ability to build relationships with peers within the department
- Accurate, thorough, and attentive to detail when handling tasks
- IT skills and competency with Microsoft software packages
- Safe and responsible working manner in laboratory areas
