Quant Developer - Ultra Low-Latency (C++) - HFT
Senior C++ Engineer (High-Frequency Trading) – Ultra-Low Latency Systems
Paragon Alpha is collaborating with a rapidly expanding systematic hedge fund globally to recruit experienced C++ Engineers for their High-Frequency Trading (HFT) team.
About the Role
You will play a pivotal role in designing and developing ultra-low latency trading systems, where precise optimisation and sub-nanosecond precision are critical to success.
Key aspects of this position include:
- Working across latency-critical systems, optimising high-performance modern C++ environments
- Collaborating with FPGA, hardware, and infrastructure engineers
- Contributing to system architecture and technical decisions affecting live global trading operations
- Solving challenges in real-time trading environments, driving technological innovation in quant finance
Core Responsibilities
- Build, refine, and maintain F lassel (-nanosecond) trading systems
- Leverage modern C++ paradigms for maximum performance
- Work closely with FPGA, low-level hardware, and system-level engineers to solve latency bottlenecks
- Implement and optimise Linux-first systems programming for trading infrastructure
- Contribute to the technical evolution of high-frequency trading algorithms and protocols

Requirements
We are seeking candidates with:
- Proven expertise in modern C++ (C++11/14/17/20/23), including templates, move semantics, individual ownership, and memory management
- Deep familiarity with Linux internals, including kernel-level optimisation principles
- Experience in diverse algorithms for financial data processing, market inference, and automated trading
- Strong problem-solving acumen and ability to identify performance optimisation opportunities at various levels (compilation, execution, kernel characteristics)
- Results-oriented mindset with a track record of delivering performance-critical code
