Quantitative Analyst

Quantitative Analyst – L&G Asset Management

About L&G Asset Management

Legal & General (L&G) is a leading UK financial services group and major global investor, safeguarding people’s financial futures since 1836. As one of the world’s largest asset managers, we provide powerful asset origination capabilities, delivering retirement and protection solutions globally, including:

  • Pension risk transfer
  • UK and US life insurance
  • UK workplace pensions and retirement income
  • Long-term responsible investment solutions, combining financially material sustainability criteria with value creation.

We are a critical player in global asset management, working internationally across public and private markets to drive long-term value.

The Role

We are seeking a Quantitative Analyst to join L&G Asset Management, working alongside the Portfolio Management team to develop robust models, tools, and analysis for derivatives and risk management, specifically tailored to pension risk transfer (PRT) and solutions mandates.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and maintain pricing, risk, and portfolio construction models for derivative strategies, ensuring alignment with market conventions and industry standards (e.g., using SQL, VBA, C#, Python).
  • Model risks across asset strategies (fixed income and other classes) to align with pension scheme liabilities, contributing to de-risking and client-driven strategies.
  • Collaborate on IT and business process projects, ensuring seamless integration of data, risk systems, and portfolio management tools.
  • Price and analyse relevant financial instruments (e.g., gilt repos, swaptions, equity derivatives) while considering collateral use and margining.
  • Act as a technical advisor, ensuring compliance with L&G Asset Management’s Treating Customers Fairly policy.
  • Openly engage with Portfolio Managers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to improve risk management, analytics, and operational efficiency.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
