Job Description: Quantitative Analyst
Team: LGIM Solutions Portfolio Management Location: London, One Coleman Street
As a Quantitative Analyst, you’ll collaborate with production team to develop and refine systems, models, and tools supporting the pricing, portfolio construction, and risk management of derivatives strategies. These strategies hedge risks and refine returns for our Solution mandates.
Key Responsibilities:

Collaborative Portfolio Analysis:
- Partner with Portfolio Management to deliver robust, accessible analysis for all Solutions Portfolio Management portfolios.

Risk Modelling:
- Model risks linked to different asset allocation strategies for fixed income assets and, where relevant, other asset classes—aligned with pension scheme liabilities.

Tool Development & Implementation:
- Drive pricing, risk, and portfolio construction analytics tools—creating databases and intuitive user interfaces compliant with industry standards (e.g., SQL, VBA, C#, Python).
- Work with project stakeholders (IT systems, business processes) to optimise enhanced data, risk, analytics, and portfolio management capabilities.

Operational Alignment:
- Collaborate with teams such as collateral management, derivative pricing to align with compliant operational/business processes.

Pricing Compliance & Collateral:
- Ensure instruments are priced and analysed according to market conventions, while evaluating current/potential collateral use in margined products.

Customer Fairness & Regulatory Adherence:
- Ensure portfolio management activities remain LCGF (Treating Customers Fairly) compliant.
Requirements & Qualifications
We seek highly capable professionals with:
Professional Experience & Qualifications:
- Master’s or PhD in quantitative disciplines preferred.
- Occupational/numerical roles in quantitative analysis, risk modelling, or relevant fields.
- Strong academic/professional foundations or vocationally critical post-interview experience.
Technical Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of: gilts, credit, interest rate & inflation swaps, gilt repos, gilt total return swaps, swaptions, equity options/futures & total return swaps (TRS), and FX forwards.
- Weighings/analytical interest in pension schemes, insurance liabilities, and de-risking strategies.
- Proficient in IT, programming, and LLM-supported coding techniques (SQL, VBA, C#, Python).
Domain Capability:
- Clear understanding of designing, implementing and sustaining risk management strategies for clients.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining pricing, portfolio, and derivatives strategy models for risk mitigation/enhancement.
Stakeholder Engagement & Initiative:
- Capable of proactively engaging Portfolio Managers and broader stakeholders.
- Proposes continual improvements to existing workflows.
