Quantitative Developer
Capital Markets Trading is a global proprietary trading and investment firm with offices in Frankfurt, London, and Chicago. We are seeking a Quantitative Developer to join our small, highly capable global technology team.
This is an on-site role based in either our London or Frankfurt office.
What You’ll Do
- Develop the data pipelines and analytics that turn our pricing and risk models into the numbers our traders rely on, including volatility surfaces, PnL, and Greeks.
- Support back-office systems and workflows, including trade reconciliation, PnL analysis, regulatory reporting, and operational processes.
- Build distributed, high-performance systems using industry-standard open-source technologies.
- Collaborate closely with traders, quantitative researchers, and engineers to take ideas from prototype through to reliable production services.
What We’re Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field.
- The ability to write clean, maintainable code, supported by some experience developing real-world software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn whichever language or technology a task requires. We use Python extensively, but care more about how you think than what you already know.
- Confidence working with data and investigating performance, reliability, or data-quality issues.
- An AI-native approach: you use modern AI tools thoughtfully to explore ideas, reason through problems, and work more effectively.
- Practical experience working with large datasets, columnar or Parquet-based data, and data-pipeline orchestration.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
