Quantitative Risk Manager (Remote - EU Timezone)

Derivatives Risk Analyst – EU Timezone (Rotating Shifts)

Working Hours: EU Timezone | 5 days per week, including some weekends


About the Opportunity

You will join a team of risk & trading professionals, serving as the first line of defence against irregular market movements. This role ensures our users and company are protected by:

  • Detecting early signs of high-risk activities (e.g. liquidation events, periods of high volatility).
  • Supporting real-time monitoring and contributing to the development of sophisticated risk alert/tools/dashboards.
  • Proactively enhancing automation and AI for trading risk monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Trend Detection & Prevention
    • Monitor and assess key risk areas within derivatives/margin to detect and prevent manipulative trades and unusual trading patterns.

  • Model & Tool Development

    • Develop risk models, alerts, tools, and dashboards to enhance monitoring capabilities.
  • Analysis & Reporting

    • Conduct daily reviews and root cause analyses of market incidents.
    • Prepare accurate risk reports for relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Technology Adoption

    • Explore the usage of AI and automation to improve trading risk monitoring processes.
  • Market Awareness & Risk Strategy

    • Proactively share timely updates on market developments/news, demonstrating deep expertise in market dynamics.
    • Implement and maintain risk policies and procedures aligned with organizational strategy and evolving market conditions.

Requirements

  • Experience & Expertise:
    • Strong background in derivatives risk management or financial markets.
    • Cryptocurrency derivatives market specialist; familiarity with DeFi protocols and ecosystems is a plus.
    • Experience in Mathematics, Quant Finance, or Financial Engineering.

  • Schedule Flexibility:

    • Willingness to work rotating shifts across 5 days per week, including occasional weekends and public holidays, in compliance with local employment regulations.
  • Technical & Technological Skills:

    • Experience using AI, automation, or scripting to optimise monitoring workflows (priority for candidates with relevant expertise).
    • Technical adeptness at improving risk detection systems.
