About the Role

Group Strategic Analytics (GSA) is part of Group Chief Operation Office (COO) which acts as the bridge between Deutsche Bank’s businesses and infrastructure functions to help deliver the efficiency, control, and transformation goals of the Bank.

You will be joining the Quantitative Research and Development (QRD) Lab within GSA. QRD’s central mission is to empower sales and trading function, and Deutsche Bank more broadly, with quantitative data-driven models and tools that leverage the latest developments in the Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) space. You will be joining a focussed and dedicated team and have the opportunity to use your strong foundational knowledge and practical experience in the field of quantitative data science to deliver impactful solutions to the business. You will collaborate with colleagues in the team as well as with key stakeholders and partnering teams.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Work with partnering sales and trading (or related) teams to formulate the initiative’s problem statement, business case, proposed approach, delivery schedule, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
  • Conduct the required research and development across the full life-cycle, from idea inception, to documentation and maintenance/improvements of the productionised solution.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest developments in the field, and share knowledge with the broader team.
  • Project management, coordination, and managerial oversight where required.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Working knowledge in deep learning and/or natural language processing, and a strong foundation in mathematics and statistics (incl. probability, time-series modelling, optimisation)
  • A track record of original research and hands-on production deliveries that evidence creativity, impact, attention to detail, and longevity of solutions.
  • Experience analysing large structured and/or unstructured datasets
  • Solid programming skills in Python. Other languages such as Java, C++, Kdb/q are a plus.
  • Excellent academic/educational credentials, expected to be at an advanced specialist level (minimum MSc), and experience in Finance industry is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex requirements in an easily understandable and effective way
