Our Client are an established Principal Contractor with 70+ years experience working across residential, education and commercial projects across London and the South East. Following several project wins they are now looking to expand their commercial team and are now looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join the business.
Projects you can expect to be involved in:
- Multi Unit Residential New Builds
- Local Authority Fit Out & Refurbishment Projects
- Healthcare New Build & Refurbishment Projects
The Role: Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple construction projects from pre-construction through to final account.

Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing cost plans, budgets and valuations.
- Managing subcontractor procurement and contract administration.
- Producing monthly cost reports and forecasts.
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
- Preparing interim applications, variations and final accounts.
- Negotiating subcontractor accounts.
- Working closely with Project Managers, Site Teams and Clients to ensure projects are delivered on budget.
- Supporting the successful commercial delivery of projects across a range of sectors.

We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment.
- Good knowledge of JCT forms of contract.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline (preferred).
- Membership of, or working towards, RICS or CIOB is advantageous.
