Due to expansion and growth on multiple large-scale Data Centre fit-out projects, we are seeking experienced and commercially sharp Electrical Quantity Surveyor (QS) for permanent or contract positions supporting our operations in London and Dublin.
About the Role
We are a leading M&E contractor specialising in high-value commercial and infrastructure projects. Due to a strong pipeline of work, we are seeking a well-rounded, ambitious Electrical Quantity Surveyor who can confidently manage the entire project lifecycle—from cradle to grave. This is a role for someone who loves variety. You will be equally comfortable in the pre-contract phase building accurate, competitive estimates and digital take-offs as you are post-contract, managing live on-site commercial delivery, variations, and final accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead digital take-offs, prepare competitive tender packages, review contract conditions, and identify commercial risks/opportunities.
- Manage on-site financial delivery, including procurement of specialist electrical sub-contractors (switchgear, BMS, fire systems).
- Track, value, and negotiate site variations and instructions under standard forms of contract JCT / NEC4.
- Prepare accurate monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), cash flow forecasts, and present reports to senior leadership.
- Negotiate and finalise sub-contract and main contract final accounts to maximize profitability.
- Produce accurate monthly cost reports (CVRs), cash flow forecasts, and budget valuations.
- Manage procurement, variations, valuations, and payment certifications for electrical subcontractors.
- Identify, price, and negotiate variations and contract amendments in line with data centre project fast-track schedules.
- Maintain project risk registers and ensure contract compliance (NEC/JCT/RIAI frameworks).
- Manage the full commercial lifecycle of electrical fit-out packages from pre-construction to final account close-out.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
