An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established consultancy supporting one of the UK's largest infrastructure programmes.

This role offers the chance to work on the National Grid's major network upgrade programme - a nationally significant investment focused on modernising and strengthening the UK's electricity transmission network. This long-term programme will play a key role in improving energy security, increasing network capacity, and supporting the transition to renewable energy, making it an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a high-profile, career-defining project.

Based from the Manchester office two days per week, you'll work closely with an experienced commercial team, receiving hands-on support and mentoring while developing your quantity surveying career. The role also includes site visits to Birmingham approximately 1-2 times per month, providing valuable exposure to project delivery and the opportunity to build strong relationships with project stakeholders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
