Location: Taunton / Bristol Area (Min. 3 days/week on site)

Rate: Approx. £450/day (Negotiable based on experience)

About the Role
Are you a commercially sharp Quantity Surveyor looking for your next high-impact contract? We are seeking an experienced QS to deliver robust commercial support across major infrastructure and engineering projects in the Southwest.
Working closely with Project Managers and Business Unit Leaders, you will drive cost control, handle contract administration, manage risk, and maximize value throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Subcontractor Management: Lead procurement support, quotations, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Contract Administration: Administer compensation events, contractual changes, and manage risk registers.
- Commercial Strategy: Identify opportunities arising from variations or delays to optimize project profitability.
- Financial Reporting: Deliver accurate cost forecasting, commercial updates, and project financial reporting.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with client teams, supply chain partners, and internal project leads.

What We’re Looking For
- Essential Experience: Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering, infrastructure, rail, utilities, or major construction.
- Commercial Expertise: Hands-on experience with subcontractor accounts, claims, compensation events, and financial forecasting.
- Technical Skills: Highly proficient in MS Excel and holding a full UK Driving Licence.
- Desirable: Degree in QS/Commercial Management, experience with NEC contracts, and RICS/ICES membership (or working towards).
