Quantity Surveyor
Quantity Surveyor – Student Accommodation (Exeter) Location: Exeter (Site-Based) Company: The Shore Group Contract Type: Freelance or Permanent (flexible) Start Date: ASAP - Commencing on site at the beginning of July
The Opportunity The Shore Group are a multi-service, sector-driven business, seeking a Quantity Surveyor to oversee the commercials on our £10million, 10-storey student accommodation scheme in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity to join the project at a key stage - preconstruction has just completed, procurement is underway, and construction is due to commence July 2026, with an anticipated 18-month programme. You will report to the Project Manager and play a pivotal role in the commercial management of the scheme, helping to drive value and support successful project delivery under a Construction Management contract.

You MUST have experience working at Quantity Surveyor level on a multi-storey Residential or Student Accommodation block, preferably valued in excess of £7million.
Role Overview Manage the commercial aspects of a £10mil live construction scheme Support ongoing and remaining procurement packages Cost reporting, forecasting, and budget control Valuations, variations, and final accounts Work closely with the project and site teams to ensure commercial success
Key Details Site-based role in Exeter, typically 5 days per week Occasional remote working flexibility available Opportunity to join immediately Open to freelance or permanent candidates, depending on preference

About You Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry Strong commercial acumen and contract knowledge clear communication, contractor coordination, budget control, and stakeholder management. Proactive, collaborative, and able to manage multiple workstreams
