Quantity Surveyor | Civil Engineering | Leeds

📍 Location: Leeds

Are you a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor looking to work on major civil engineering and infrastructure projects? An established and growing civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team, delivering a diverse portfolio of infrastructure schemes across highways, public realm, flood alleviation, active travel and bridge projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative business delivering projects for local authorities and public sector clients across the North of England.

The Role

You'll play a key role in the commercial delivery of multiple civil engineering projects, taking responsibility for cost management, contract administration and commercial reporting from project start through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and submission of interim payment applications and final accounts
  • Administration of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts
  • Identifying and managing Early Warnings
  • Preparing, assessing and submitting Compensation Events
  • Supporting commercial risk management throughout the project lifecycle
  • Procurement and management of subcontract packages
  • Administration of subcontract agreements
  • Assessing subcontract payment applications and issuing payment notices
  • Agreement of subcontract final accounts
  • Measurement of quantities from drawings and on site
  • Production of accurate valuations, cost value reconciliations and commercial reports
  • Working closely with operational teams to monitor project progress
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
  • Ensuring accurate site records are maintained to support contractual entitlement

What We're Looking For

  • HND (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Previous experience working on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Good understanding of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage workloads and meet reporting deadlines
  • Positive, proactive approach with a strong team ethic
  • Full UK Driving Licence
