Quantity Surveyor - Major Infrastructure | Central Birmingham
£45,000-£60,000 + Company car + Package
Hybrid Working
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a high-profile, major infrastructure project in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a large, complex civil engineering scheme, working within an experienced and supportive commercial team for one of the UK's leading main contractors.

The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will quickly become an integral part of the commercial management team and responsible for a portfolio of subcontract packages, taking them from procurement to final accounts. You'll work closely with senior commercial staff while gaining exposure to all aspects of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing project costs to ensure delivery within budget
- Support the preparation of cost reports, forecasts, and budget updates
- Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions
- Assist with the management of variations and change control processes
- Support subcontract procurement, including tendering and evaluation
- Prepare and assist with interim valuations and applications for payment
- Identify and escalate commercial risks and opportunities
- Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
- Contribute to value engineering initiatives
- Provide commercial support to the wider project team

Requirements
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, civil engineering, or utilities
- Familiarity with the NEC form of contract
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good communication and organisational abilities
- Able to commute to Central Birmingham (minimum expectation 3 days per week)
Salary & Package
- £40,000 to £60,000 basic salary
- Company car
- 25-26 days annual leave + bank holidays
- Option to purchase up to 8 additional days
