Tony Weir Contractors is a growing, family run fencing business based in Elgin. Since 2016, we’ve built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality fencing projects across Scotland for commercial and domestic clients.
As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team and help manage the commercial side of our projects from quotation through to completion.
The Role
This is a full-time, office-based role in Elgin, with occasional travel to sites across Scotland.
You’ll work closely with directors and site teams to help keep projects running smoothly, on budget and on schedule.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing quotations and cost estimates.
- Measuring materials and labour from drawings and site information.
- Monitoring project costs and budgets.
- Preparing valuations and cost reports.
- Ordering materials and liaising with suppliers.
- Working with project managers, site teams and clients.
- Helping with tenders and keeping commercial records up to date.
- Supporting the successful delivery of our fencing projects.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator within construction.
- Good understanding of cost control and budgeting.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification is desirable but not essential if you have suitable experience.
- Fencing or civil engineering experience is an advantage, but not essential.
- Full UK driving licence.
