Quantity Surveyor

Quantity Surveyor – Leading Service Provider (Utilities Industry)

About the Role

FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the utilities industry for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Control: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture, analyse, and control project costs
  • Client Collaboration: Work with clients to ensure business requirements are met
  • Contract Management: Handle the main contract, preparing and issuing notices/correspondence
  • Subcontract Administration: Prepare and issue subcontract documentation
  • Subcontractor Management: Assist in managing and evaluating subcontractor performance
  • Payment Management: Oversee the preparation and approval of payment applications
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Create project budgets, forecasts, and cost-value reports
  • Mentorship: Guide and develop junior team members
  • Continuous Learning: Actively engage in professional development
  • Problem-Solving: Approach challenges with constructive solutions

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification
  • Chartership (working towards or achieved) with a recognised professional institution
  • Experience in utilities, civil engineering, or MEICA sectors
  • NEC 3/4 contract experience

  • Knowledge of CEMAR contracts
  • Experience managing and developing teams (individuals or small groups)
