Intermediate Quantity Surveyor – Groundworks / Civils (Site-Based)

A well-established Groundworks Sub-Contractor in Bridgwater is seeking an experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a major commercial development project. This is an ideal opportunity for a QS with a strong groundworks or civils background to take ownership of key commercial responsibilities on a high-profile site.


Role Overview

You will be site-based, working closely with operations and commercial teams to manage financial aspects including:

  • Valuations
  • Variations
  • Subcontractor management
  • Reporting

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and administering subcontractor accounts
  • Preparing valuations and payment applications
  • Comparing cost reporting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Identifying and pricing variations and managing change
  • Supporting procurement of materials and subcontractors
  • Attending site meetings and liaising with project teams
  • Ensuring compliance with contract terms and commercial procedures

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role, preferably in groundworks or civils
  • HNC/Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
  • Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of NEC or JCT contracts
  • Confident site presence with ability to engage with delivery teams
  • Full UK driving licence
