Intermediate Quantity Surveyor – Groundworks / Civils (Site-Based)
A well-established Groundworks Sub-Contractor in Bridgwater is seeking an experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a major commercial development project. This is an ideal opportunity for a QS with a strong groundworks or civils background to take ownership of key commercial responsibilities on a high-profile site.
Role Overview
You will be site-based, working closely with operations and commercial teams to manage financial aspects including:
- Valuations
- Variations
- Subcontractor management
- Reporting
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and administering subcontractor accounts
- Preparing valuations and payment applications
- Comparing cost reporting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Identifying and pricing variations and managing change
- Supporting procurement of materials and subcontractors
- Attending site meetings and liaising with project teams
- Ensuring compliance with contract terms and commercial procedures

Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role, preferably in groundworks or civils
- HNC/Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
- Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail
- Solid understanding of NEC or JCT contracts
- Confident site presence with ability to engage with delivery teams
- Full UK driving licence
