Quantity Surveyor

Quantity Surveyor Role – Leading Wastewater Service Provider

Location: Bristol (Hybrid working available)


About the Role

FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the wastewater industry for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their team.

Responsibilities

Financial & Administrative Duties

  • Prepare applications, valuations, and cost-value reconciliations.
  • Manage cost control, forecasting, and provide data for monthly reports on:
    • Value
    • Cost
    • Profit/loss
    • Cash flow
  • Oversee supply chain management.

Contractual & Risk Management

  • Lead Risk and Value Management, optimising solutions and regularly reviewing with the project team (incl. mentoring).
  • Manage contract administration, including:
    • Contract forms
    • Budgetary control methods
    • Software applications
  • Prepare subcontract enquiries, negotiate terms, and establish contracts.
  • Maintain accurate records of all project notifications and documents.

Stakeholder & Compliance Duties

  • Identify and promptly report safety risks to site management.
  • Maintain ongoing liaison with:
    • Site teams
    • Subcontractors
    • Client representatives
  • Provide contractual advice to the site team.

Requirements

Essential

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • ARICS membership OR participation in the APC (Assessment of Professional Competence program)
  • Experience working with a main contractor
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts (Desirable)
  • Experience within the water/wastewater sector (Desirable)
