About The Role

Location: NZT Project based

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Join Balfour Beatty's Asset & Technology Solutions team as a Quantity Surveyor based on the NZT project and play a key role in delivering innovative infrastructure and technology-led projects across the UK.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an established Quantity Surveyor or an Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to take the next step in their career. You'll support the commercial success of projects through cost management, procurement, contract administration, and stakeholder engagement, while developing your expertise within a collaborative and supportive team.

What you'll be doing

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working closely with project teams, customers and supply chain partners, you'll help maximise value while maintaining the highest standards of quality and governance.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Managing project costs, valuations and commercial reporting
  • Preparing cost reconciliations and supporting financial forecasting
  • Measuring, recording and valuing works in line with company procedures
  • Interpreting drawings, specifications and works information
  • Preparing Bills of Quantities and schedules of rates
  • Procuring and managing subcontractors and supply chain partners
  • Reviewing programmes and planning commercial activities accordingly
  • Supporting customer and stakeholder relationships
  • Ensuring compliance with company governance and commercial processes
  • Mentoring and supporting developing members of the commercial team where appropriate

Who we're looking for

Essential Requirements

  • Degree (BSc or MSc) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience
  • CSCS Academically Qualified or Professionally Qualified Person Card
  • Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB, or actively working towards chartership
  • Experience managing commercial activities on construction or civil engineering projects
  • Strong commercial awareness and contractual understanding
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
