Project Surveyor

Wates Smartspace, a leading construction firm, are seeking Project Surveyors to join their dynamic team in the South of England. About the Role

Our Project Surveyors serve as a critical link in project delivery, leading teams on fit-out and refurbishment schemes. They are responsible for shaping and implementing pre-contract and post-contract commercial strategies, ensuring contract compliance, commercial viability, added value, and adherence to best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Management & Budgeting

    • Manage and control project budgets, forecasting, and financial controls throughout the full project lifecycle of fit-out and refurbishment projects.
    • Prepare accurate cost valuations and reports to support decision-making.
  • Contract & Commercial Administration

    • Procur and administer subcontractor contracts, leadership on tender evaluations, and contract administration.
    • Oversee variation tracking, risk management, and compliance with NEC/JCT contracts to ensure robust contract performance.

    • Work directly with live project teams to provide commercial insights and guidance, aiding in real-time decision-making.
  • Final Accounts & Claims Resolution

    • Lead final account preparation, claim resolution, and ensure comprehensive commercial documentation to protect project profitability.

    • Champion value engineering initiatives, and promote sustainability-focused solutions within project deliverables.
