A fast-growing contractor specialising in social housing refurbishment, planned maintenance, and capital works across the Midlands is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team.

What You'll Be Doing As Quantity Surveyor

Reporting directly to the directors, you'll take ownership of a wide range of commercial activities across multiple projects, supporting both pre-contract and post-contract functions.

You'll be responsible for pricing works, managing costs, producing commercial reports, and working closely with our operational teams to maximise project performance. As the company continues to grow, there will be genuine opportunities to progress into a senior commercial leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pricing tenders and negotiated works
  • Preparing estimates and cost plans
  • Producing monthly CVRs and commercial reports
  • Managing applications for payment
  • Valuing and agreeing variations
  • Preparing and agreeing final accounts
  • Procuring subcontractors and suppliers
  • Cost forecasting and margin analysis
  • Supporting operational teams with commercial advice
  • Developing commercial systems and reporting procedures
  • Working closely with the directors to support business growth

What we're looking for in a Quantity Surveyor

  • Experience in the role or as an Assistant QS
  • Experience in NHF SoR will be a significant advantage
  • Experience within social housing, refurbishment, or planned maintenance is preferred
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Experience producing CVRs, valuations, and commercial reports
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Ambitious, proactive, and keen to develop within a growing business
