Linsco are delighted to be working alongside our client, a well-established regional main contractor with over 30 years experience delivering projects across the building, civil engineering and structural steel sectors. Operating throughout Yorkshire, the Midlands and the North East, they have built a strong reputation for successfully delivering high-quality construction, infrastructure and public sector projects.
With a strong annual turnover, a growing order book and several long-term local authority and infrastructure framework agreements in place, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Civils and Build division.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with a background in civil engineering and infrastructure projects to join a growing business with a secure pipeline of work across local authority frameworks, highways improvements, public realm schemes, drainage and wider civil engineering projects.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
