Intermediate Level Quantity Surveyor – Joining a Top Contractor
This is an exciting opportunity to work for a proven contractor with a diverse pipeline of projects across Residential, Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Leisure & Sport, and Pharma. The successful candidate will have the freedom to work from either the Newry or Belfast office, with flexibility to travel to sites as needed. After probation, the role will include 1-2 remote working days per week.
Role & Responsibilities
The Intermediate Quantity Surveyor will play a crucial role in the following key areas:
- Procurement and Contract Management
- Appointment, management, and final account settlement with subcontractors and suppliers
- Financial Administration
- Preparation of accurate progress accounts
- Assessing and valuing interim and final payments for project progress
- Cost monitoring and reporting
- Risk & Cost Mitigation
- Collaborating with project teams to identify and mitigate risks and cost overruns
- Tendering Support
- Assisting the pre-construction team in preparing and delivering tenders
- Industry Engagement
- Staying up-to-date with construction innovations, regulations, and market trends

Requirements
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Qualification: A Level 8 degree in Quantity Surveying
- Experience: Minimum 3-4 years’ relevant experience in the Irish/UK construction sector
- Software Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with Buildsoft, Cubit, or Bluebeam is advantageous
- Communication & Stakeholder Management:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong attention to detail and measuring expertise
- Works Management:
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Must be self-driven, able to work independently and as part of a high-performing team

Our client offers a concise and competitive salary plus a range of benefits:
- Salary: Circa £60,000 - £70,000 (DOE)
