Our client, a leading facilities management provider, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, supporting a diverse portfolio of facilities management, maintenance, and minor works projects across Cambridgeshire.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation where you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered commercially, on time, and within budget, while working alongside operational teams, project managers, clients, and supply chain partners.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you'll provide commercial support across a wide range of reactive, planned maintenance, and project works. You'll be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring robust cost control, accurate forecasting, and effective contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing commercial advice and support to operational and project teams.
  • Preparing cost plans, pricing work, valuations, and financial forecasts.
  • Managing change control, variations, and commercial risk.
  • Producing monthly cost reports and supporting financial performance reviews.
  • Reviewing supplier applications, managing subcontractor accounts, and agreeing final accounts.
  • Supporting tender submissions and pricing of additional works.
  • Monitoring project performance against budgets and contractual requirements.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and supply chain partners.
  • Supporting dispute avoidance and commercial issue resolution.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve commercial processes, drive efficiencies, and maximize value across contracts.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
