If so, due to our continuing success, we are experiencing rapid and extensive growth across all business sectors and are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor with a successful background in construction.
You will join our Commercial team, supporting a variety of projects across the North West region.
You will support the financial management of contracts in partnership with the Contracts Managers and/or Project Managers.
What you will be doing
- Work in partnership with site management, commercially supporting sites as required, to develop a proactive site team. Ensure that contractual obligations are identified and administered.
- Vet contract documentation on receipt from the client to ensure compatibility with the Company's tender and subsequent negotiations.
- Produce a Commercial Risk Register for each contract. Monitor risk and assist in implementing agreed mitigation measures.
- Prepare and issue enquiries for major plant and equipment and subcontract packages. Vet quotations commercially and negotiate prices and terms with vendors. Issue resultant purchase orders.
- Prepare and submit applications for payment and/or invoices, obtain payment certificates and progress client payments in accordance with contractual provisions.
- Measure, submit and agree variations, loss and expense claims and/or compensation events in accordance with contractual provisions to facilitate prompt agreement of final accounts.
- Monitor on-site record keeping. Prepare and issue notices in accordance with contractual provisions.
- Prepare and submit monthly Cost Value Reconciliations and Cash/Spend Profiles. Attend Contract Review Meetings.
- Authorise and code suppliers' and subcontractors' invoices and submit them to Finance for payment.
- Measure, certify and agree subcontractors' interim valuations and final accounts. Prepare and issue contractual notices to subcontractors.

Who we are looking for
- A Quantity Surveyor with a successful construction portfolio.
- Good knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Educated to BSc level in Quantity Surveying (or another equivalent commercially related discipline).
- Membership of a professional institution (e.g. MRICS or similar).
- Knowledge of, and working experience within, Mechanical and Electrical services and/or utilities.
- Ability to demonstrate strong commercial awareness and acumen.
- Full UK manual driving licence.
